"Harrison" 20947209
"Harrison" 20947209: 6 year old male Pomeranian. 6.4lbs
This older pom was transferred in from another shelter in hopes of placing him up for adoption. Unfortunately, but he did not pass his behavior evaluation. He is an approximately 6 year old male, and was originally a stray. He is very talkative, and loves being held. He allows all handling from me (Meghan), and has always been sweet and excited to see me. He has some barrier issues with other staff members, and has food guarding behaviors, and becomes snappy during faceplay. He is a very hyper little guy with tons of energy that loves attention! Harrison is currently in sickbay with kennel cough. |

"tonto" 2026557
"Tonto" 2026557: 2 year old neutered male Scottish Terrier/ Miniature Schnauzer mix. 11.52lbs
Tonto was surrendered to us with two of his doggie housemates because his owners said they "cant keep them in the house" though he lived his whole life outside in the backyard. They didnt provide a lot of information on his personality, but here at the shelter he has been as sweet as can be. He passed his behavior evaluation, but is not an adoption candidate due to medical issues. |

"CINNAMON" A20925908 |
"Cinnamon" A20925908: 2 year old female Beagle X Dachshund 20 lbs.
Cinnamon was surrendered because the owners decided they didn't have time for her any longer. The got her from a CL ad 7 months ago. She is inside all day, but sometimes has accidents. She is crate trained. Her owners marked that she does not like small children and that she barks and growls at strangers. Unfortunately, Cinnamon is not an adoption candidate due to unpredictable behavior during her evaluation- she was ok with the evaluator most of the time, but would get spooked and hide under the table and growl at him. Cinnamon is paired up with other little dogs and doing well. |

"Schnitzel" 17338321
"Schnitzel" 17338321: 5 year old spayed female Affenpinscher X Maltese 11lbs.
Schnitzel was returned to us after about a year of adoption because her owners said she is very cat aggressive and has a high prey drive. They marked that she is housetrained and kept mostly inside and that her favorite activity is cuddling. However, she is cat and dog aggressive and not trustworthy with children. They also marked that she is friendly to people, likes riding in the car, affectionate, outgoing, jumps on people and likes treats. She has bitten someone who tried to take a treat away from her. She is not an adoption candidate here due to her history with other animals and for showing food/ object aggression during her eval. Schnitzel is already microchipped. |

"Stilts" 20865174
|
"Stilts" 20865174: 1 year old neutered male Leggy Chihuahua 6.5 lbs.
Stilts is quite the character. He has been up for adoption here and is chipped, neutered, heartworm negative, current on rabies, dhpp, and bordetella, been de-wormed, given flea and heartworm preventative and FREE to an approved rescue group. Unforunately, we had to remove Stilts from our adoption center as he has proven to be incredibly difficult to contain. Despite our best efforts, he manages to climb over or squeeze through our kennels. There is one space in our adoption runs that is slightly wider than the space through the normal kennel bars so that we can fit our hand into it to open and close the kennel. Stilts manages to squeeze his head/ body through this space- even if we attempt to block it by tying rope. We have found him nearly injuring himself trying to escape. In addition to his escape methods, he has been increasingly barrier aggressive and is becoming kennel stressed. Here are notes about his personality: Stilts does have long legs, and big ears, but is a very cute little guy. He loves treats and will stand on his back legs then spin for you in exchange for a yummy goodie. Affectionate and playful he can also be a little timid sometimes. Stilts would probably do best in an adult household that's calm or just somewhat active. |

"Samantha Pants" 20977981
|
"Samantha Pants" 20977981: 10 month old female Bengal X DSH 9.31 lbs.
Samantha Pants came to us as a stray from Rancho Cordova. She has been friendly and outgoing with the rescue staff, but became over stimulated when evaluated for adoption. Due to this and the limited amount of space we have available for adoptable kitties, Samantha Pants needs to go to a rescue group. |

"Vash" 20919611
|
"Vash" 20919611: 5 year old neutered male Catahoula X 80 lbs.
TRANSFERRED AND ADOPTED!!! Vash was surrendered because his owner's landlord would not let them keep him. They had owned him his whole life and found him on a Craigslist ad. They listed that he is housetrained and was kept inside 24/7. They also marked that he is crate trained. His favorite activities are walking, tug of war, and chase. He lived with two children, ages 2 and 13 years old, other dogs, and cats and did fine with all of them. They said he whines when he is left alone, enjoys car rides, and is playful and friendly. Unfortunately, Vash is a sensitive guy and although all of his nails were trimmed on intake by a female staffer, he did not like it when two of our male staffers lifted his rear paws. Vash is not an adoption candidate due to growling when his feet were being handled. He will also get very excited when encouraged to play and growls and uses a hard mouth. |

"Mac" 20924408
|
"Mac" 20924408: 3 month old male Terrier X 7.5 lbs.
Mac was brought in because they had too many animals. He is a fiesty little pup that will need structure and leadership during his training. He is not a candidate for general adoption here because he is very pushy and mouthy and also showed food/ object aggression. RESCUED BY POUND PUPPY RESCUE!!! |
